Our mission is to empower women, minimize environmental impact, and promote transparency throughout our supply chain. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards and expectations we uphold and require from all our suppliers and partners.
1. Ethical Labor Practices
1.1 Fair Wages and Timely Payment
Suppliers must ensure that all workers receive fair compensation that meets or exceeds the legal minimum wage. Payments should be made promptly and transparently.
1.2 Safe and Healthy Working Conditions
Work environments must be safe, hygienic, and conducive to the well-being of all employees. Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable health and safety regulations.
1.3 No Discrimination or Harassment
Suppliers must provide a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and abuse. All employees should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, or any other status.
1.4 Empowerment of Women
We prioritize partnerships with women-owned enterprises and cooperatives, particularly those supporting single mothers and women micro-entrepreneurs in North Macedonia. Suppliers are encouraged to support initiatives that empower women economically and socially.
2. Environmental Responsibility
2.1 Sustainable Materials
Suppliers should utilize sustainable, low-impact materials, including upcycled and deadstock fabrics, to minimize environmental harm.
2.2 Waste Reduction
We adhere to a zero-waste policy. Suppliers must implement practices that reduce waste, such as made-to-order production and efficient material usage.
2.3 Carbon Footprint
Suppliers are expected to take steps to reduce their carbon footprint, including local sourcing and production to minimize transportation emissions. Participation in carbon offset initiatives is highly encouraged.
3. Transparency and Accountability
3.1 Supply Chain Transparency
Suppliers must maintain transparent records of their supply chains, including sourcing of materials and labor practices.This information should be readily available for review upon request.
3.2 Compliance and Auditing
Regular audits may be conducted to ensure compliance with this Code of Conduct. Suppliers are expected to cooperate fully and address any identified issues promptly.
4. Community Engagement
4.1 Social Initiatives
Suppliers are encouraged to engage in community development initiatives, such as supporting local education, healthcare, and social services, particularly those benefiting women and children.
4.2 The Women Fund
Suppliers may participate in Bastet Noir's Women Fund, which supports single-parent women in growing their businesses and supporting their families.
5. Legal Compliance
Suppliers must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, including those related to labor, health and safety, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
6. Continuous Improvement
We believe in continuous improvement and encourage suppliers to regularly assess and enhance their practices in line with this Code of Conduct.
