Among many of the roles I play in running a fashion online shop, some of which are plainly boring like doing the financial forecast and setting up the prices for the upcoming collections, there is one I dare say, I quite enjoy. Hunting social media influencers has sort of developed into a bit of an obsession lately. So, whenever I come across an Instagram account filled with awesome travel experiences, amazing flat lays, badass stylish outfits and beautiful selfies that bristle with a certain kind of warmth, I only have one mission in mind. Get the woman behind the profile on Bastet Noir’s team, ASAP! Stalker alert!
Lara Begic, the girl behind Mainstream Chiccaught my attention earlier this November with her adorable Instagram posts dominated by soft cream tones, 50 shades of millennial pink and clean white backgrounds and since than she has become Bastet Noir’s secret girl crush. Perfectionist by nature (seriously, if you don’t believe me, just take a peek at her Instagram), it takes a certain kind of dedication for a profile to look that flawlessly polished. There isn’t a photo in there you wouldn’t want to like or post you wouldn’t want to read. She’s good that way at capturing fashionista’s attention and once you’re on there you’ll be hooked for good, which makes her the perfect cool face of Bastet Noir. Tell us a bit more about yourself. How did you start with your blog?
I’m Lara, a 20 year old media communication student, who currently lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is a coffee addict. My passion for writing has been present since I can remember, and I used to have a private blog called “Leedeewyzee writes” (don’t ask), where I’d share my daily thoughts. Later on I mixed that passion with my personal style and that resulted in me wanting a proper blog. That sadly didn’t happen until just a year ago, even though I had my page set for two years before actually publishing it. Still, it was 100% the best decision I ever made.
I think my style is constantly changing and developing, so it’s kind of hard to describe it. I’d say that I stick to the classics. My biggest inspiration are vintage outfits, so I try to mix some lets say cool mom jeans with current trends. And if an outfit feels boring to me, I just add some awesome earrings and call it a day.
Funny enough, this is actually a hard question for me. I am obviously in love with Instagram, and am very active, however my organising obsessed personality is hooked on Pinterest. I am constantly creating new boards, and searching for inspiration and cool content. But since my Instagram profile is like my baby and my work all in one, thats definitely the app I’d choose.
Besides Ljubljana, my favorite city in the whole wide world, I’m in love with Barcelona and London. No matter how many times I go, I never get bored of them. Can’t forget Kranj though, my home city where some of my favorite people live.

One thing in your closet that you could not live without?
Probably my mom jeans. Cosiest piece of clothing I own and goes with nearly everything.
I fell in love with Bastet when I saw their custom-made marigold shirt dress on my best friend Marija, and have been in love ever since. The pieces stand out in the crowd, but are so simple and wearable at the same time. Clothes aren’t going to change the world, but women who wear Bastet Noir definitely will.
Confidence and sass are traits I absolutely admire in every woman. Lara is definately a girl who has these two in abundance. Her personality pops among thousands of boring Instagram accounts and that’s exactly what makes her December’s cool face of Bastet Noir.
