It takes a lot of courage to do this and not many of us can, mostly because as people we’re programed to prefer the calmness of comfort, rather than enjoy the excitement of unpredictability. So most of those who will take the easy road and stay at a job they don’t want, will never get to feel the thrill that comes with leaving the comfort behind and embrace the uncertainty.

For the former Microsoft project manager, Nena Stojova, this exact scenario is the story of her life. After finding herself in a position where she no longer enjoyed what she was doing, she decided that it’s time to step up, take a charge of her own life and start living her dream. So she flew to Morocco, where she found women cooperative that produced the purest argan oil, ordered few samples and started a Kickstarter campaign and her journey as an entrepreneur began. Today she is a proud founder of a natural skincare line called Bare Origin, based in Stockholm. Her botanical oils are charming the world with every bottle sold, giving the beauty industry a run for its money. Here’s a girl whose holistic approach to life stemmed from her desire to make a difference, support gender equality and promote self care and love and a fierce woman who in few years time will undoubtedly shake and dominate the beauty world. You’re the founder of Bare Origin, a skincare company for botanical oils. Could you tell us what inspired you to start it?

I was working in the IT industry when I realized that my job was sucking more energy out of me then giving back. When I gathered enough strength to quit my job I had already been to Morocco a few times and explored the argan cooperatives and seen firsthand the difference they make for gender equality. At that time I was already very passionate about wellness and natural products from skincare to food, and argan oil was my first big oil love. So I decided to give it a try and bring high-quality, fair trade argan oil to the market. The response of everyone who tried the product was overwhelming, everyone loved it and saw that this was something different and much better than most of the products out there. So it slowly started unfolding and one step at a time the collection developed and now here we are, we are a full-blown skin care line, with oils, toners and facial soaps.

What’s the favorite part of your working day?

For sure talking to retailers and customers, and yes OK content planning and anything that has to do with visuals and the creative side of the business.

But I love being out there meeting people telling them about the products and hearing their reaction. I love going to fairs, I’m a very extroverted social person so I could sit and talk to people for hours. I have been to many fairs with the brand London, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Skopje, Sofia and those are some of my most exciting days.

You’re an adventurer and world traveler. What’s your favorite place to be in the world?

That’s funny but actually at the moment my favorite place to be at in the world is my house in Sweden. I just recently moved to the countryside a few minutes away from the sea literally in the middle of the forest (my neighbor has a goat farm) and every day feels like a special new adventure.

After a few years of not having a home and just traveling around, it feels quite nice to be settled and do things I have always dreamed of doing like planting a garden. But of course after this my second favorite place is Morocco. The nature in Morocco is so diverse that it feels like you have several different landscapes and seasons in one place. I love the desert and I love the coast line in Morocco.

How would you describe your personal style?

I am not really sure I have a defined style as such. I usually get things I like which is often simple things with some distinctive cuts. I love contemporary clothes design and I see fashion more as an artform than anything else. I love gray, black and white clothes but I also love colors so I try to find a balance in between.
